Raising Awareness on World Mental Health Day

World Mental Health Day was a chance for Mind in Bradford to get out and about in the Bradford district.

Breakfast-time train and bus travellers were greeted by members of our team at the Bradford Interchange & Forster Square Stations, handing out leaflets, coasters and business cards, highlighting our work, what we have to offer and raising awareness of mental health in general.

Many generous donations were made by commuters and all money raised will be spent on delivering services throughout Bradford, Airedale, Wharfedale & Craven.

After this, we headed to the Broadway Shopping Centre where we received a very warm welcome from visitors who expressed a lot of interest in our services and mental health which touches the lives of so many.

Following this, we celebrated the 20th anniversary of Guide-Line; our confidential telephone helpline. Like all good birthdays, this event involved a large cake.

A huge thank you to the Guide-Line team whose very hard work, commitment and compassion keeps this service alive and provides essential support to thousands each year.

Today, and every day of the year, the helpline is available from noon to 9pm, offering a listening ear, support, information and advice about all aspects of mental health. Get in touch on 01274 594 594.

Don't forget, whilst World Mental Health Day only happens once a year, people are experiencing mental ill health every day of the year...

...So let's keep raising awareness, reducing stigma, reaching out to friends & loved one's who may need our help and taking ownership of our own mental health by reaching out for support when we need it :)
