What is Mental Health Awareness Week?

Mental Health Awareness Week is a UK-wide campaign that aims to make mental health a national priority by tackling stigma and helping people to prioritise their own and others’ mental health.

The theme for this year’s Mental Health Awareness Week is community.

We will be providing expert information on how community supports mental health, sharing inspiring stories and encouraging people to support us in whatever way you can.

Community and mental health

Community plays a vital role in mental health by creating a sense of belonging, providing support, and offering opportunities for social interaction, all of which contribute to improved wellbeing and resilience.

At BDC Mind we provide mental health services that enable people to build the confidence to connect with their community to support their wellbeing.

Services like Community Companions and Tea ‘n’ Talk groups help people to access their community and connect with others.
