Volunteer Placement Award – University of Bradford
We are delighted to win an award for ‘The Most Outstanding and Supportive Learning Environment’ […]
At Bradford District and Craven Mind, we’re proud to be part of this project. We contributed evidence from our Youth in Mind programme, which supports people aged 5 to 19. This programme is different because it provides mental health help without long waiting lists or the need for clinical settings. We’ve seen first hand how much this kind of support can improve people’s lives.
The University’s research will focus on three key areas:
This research will dig deep into the state of mental health services for young people in Bradford and Craven. The goal is simple: to figure out what works and do more of it, while also improving access to support for everyone who needs it.
We will be supporting this important work, along with Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust, the Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Born in Bradford, Bradford Council for Mosques, Bishop of Bradford, Bradford Council and Bradford 2025.
Helen Ioannou, our Service Director for All-Age Services said about the programme:
This is a fantastic opportunity for the district, and at BDC Mind we’re proud to have supported the University’s successful application.
The £2.5m funding will enable essential work to address mental health challenges for children and young people in our communities, focusing on tackling inequalities and supporting under-represented groups—fully aligning with BDC Mind’s objectives as set out in our 24–28 strategy.
