Be a part of BCB Radio’s new mental health project

Ever wanted to try Radio?

BCB, the community radio station for Bradford, is launching an exciting new project called ‘Hear my Voice’ to raise awareness around mental health in the Bradford District – and they want you to be a part of it. Hear more about the project now from Radio Director Mary here on this short video: https://vimeo.com/710795768

BCB is looking to recruit a team of people with lived experience of managing their mental health to produce a series of radio programmes for broadcast.

Those who take part will have the opportunity to be trained in radio production and presentation skills, before being supported to produce a series of six radio programmes. The programmes will highlight lived experiences of mental health as well as the support available across the Bradford District, reducing the stigma around mental health and promoting positivity and well-being.

This is an exciting opportunity to learn new skills, engage in a creative activity, meet and socialise with new people and make an ongoing, positive contribution to the community.

How can I get involved?

Over the next few weeks, BCB will be holding taster sessions for anyone interested in finding out more. The first sessions will be on Friday 20 May at 1pm and Tuesday 31 May at 2pm.

UPDATE: If you missed the above taster sessions we’ve added a new date!

Tuesday 14 June at 2pm

If you’ve used mental health services or are living with the impact of poor mental health and are interested in attending the sessions, please contact Mary Dowson, BCB Director on 01274 771677 or [email protected].
