Last week, local fitness club Rally Fit took to the dancefloor armed with glowsticks, water bottles and a determination to raise money for Bradford District and Craven Mind through the power of dance.
With Percy Pigs for fuel and glow-in-the-dark make-up as warpaint, the Rally Fit team took on an epic 90-minute Clubbercise class – double the standard 45-minute class – to fundraise for their local mental health charity.
Clubbercise is a full-body workout to club anthems, with routines combining dance, toning and combat moves with options for all fitness levels.
The team smashed through a sweaty hour and a half of jumps, squats, lunges and freestyling, and raised an incredible £1,600 while doing so.
Colin Grist, co-founder at Leeds creative agency Few and Far by day and Clubbercise Instructor at Rally Fit by night, said:
I’m really proud of the whole group for undertaking a difficult challenge and for raising so much for this amazing charity in just two weeks – they all did so, so well. I try to support and champion mental wellbeing in my day job, and also through my fitness classes and this felt like a great way to give back to a great cause.
Bradford District and Craven Mind’s communications and fundraising team also took part in the class alongside Rally Fit’s regular clubbers.
Lydia Gray, Fundraising and Development Officer, said:
We absolutely loved joining Colin’s #MoveForMind Clubathon! I’m still aching, but it was so worth it to meet such amazing people, passionate about fitness and mental health in their community. Thank you for raising such an incredible amount of money!
It’s not too late to sponsor the Rally Fit team – you can donate on JustGiving.
