If you’re aged 18 and over and live in Bradford District and Craven you can access our wellbeing groups.

We have a wide range of groups on offer including wellbeing activities and recovery-focused groups. Groups are delivered by a friendly team of wellbeing practitioners and volunteers who run the groups at Bradford District and Craven Mind and other venues around Bradford District and Craven. 

How do I access the Wellbeing Service?

To attend our Wellbeing groups, you will need to register with Bradford District and Craven Mind. The quickest and easiest way to register is via our Wellbeing group referral form.

Weekend Wellbeing Group

Runs the first weekend of a month, alternating Saturdays (10.30am – 12.30pm) and Sundays (11.30am – 1.30pm), Bradford District and Craven Mind

Women's Wellbeing

Fridays, 10.30am – 12.30pm, Bradford District and Craven Mind

Exploring what mental health means to you, self-care, challenges, warning signs and more.

Peer Support

Tuesdays, 2pm-4pm, Bradford District and Craven Mind

A confidential space, exploring different topics and activities with Peers.

Wellbeing Support Group - Skipton

Tuesdays, 2.30pm – 4pm, St Andrew’s Church

Different topics are discussed each week, including relationship issues, bereavement, domestic abuse, carer’s issues, accessing mental health support, family events and occasions and more. 

Creative Art Therapy

Creative group

Wednesdays, 2.30pm-4pm, Bradford District and Craven Mind

A calm and safe space to enjoy getting crafty over a 12 week period. Being creative can help to boost confidence, reduce anxiety and isolation. This group is a great opportunity to socialize, make new friends and allow your imagination to run free.

Creative group

Mondays, 1pm-3pm, Bradford District and Craven Mind

A relaxed group that focuses on organising thoughts, processing emotions, boosting imagination and improving communications though the medium of writing.

Qi Gong

Gentle exercise group

Mondays, 2pm-3.30pm, Bradford District and Craven Mind

A series of movement and holding positions whilst controlling breathing. Suitable for all abilities. Any serious illness – may need to consult doctor first.

 

Ten Pin Bowling

In-person group at Shipley Lanes, Market Street, Shipley 

We are delighted to offer a 10-week bowling course at Shipley Lanes, the sessions will run every Friday for 10-weeks from 12pm – 2pmAt week five you’ll get your own bowling ball and bag to keep. We are asking for a contribution of £2.50 towards each session.

Walk and Talk

Tuesdays, 11.30am-1pm, and Thursdays, 3.30pm-5pm

Meeting together at Lister Park twice a week for a casual, social walk and an opportunity to chat with staff and peers. 

We have walking shoes you can use if needed (size 6 and up).

Board Games

Thursdays, 2pm-5pm, Bradford District and Craven Mind

This group presents you with the opportunity to sharpen your mind, enhance problem-solving skills, and stimulate your creativity through a variety of board games!

6 Weeks of Wellness for Carers 

Thursdays, 10.30am – 12.30pm, Bradford District and Craven Mind

Increasing self-awareness, exploring resilience and keeping well in your caring role.

Recovery sessions - Bradford

Mondays, 10.30am-11.30am and 11.30am-12.30pm, Bradford District and Craven Mind

Covers different themes each week – 2 themes per week. Things such as depression, anxiety, self-care, stress, grief and loss, sleep, grounding techniques, boundaries and assertiveness etc. 

Each session lasts 1 hour. 

 

Confidence, Assertiveness and Self-Esteem

Fridays, 12.00pm-1.30pm, Bradford District and Craven Mind

Group to build confidence

An 8 week course (not necessary to attend all 8 sessions) looking at how these topics affect our mental health. Useful tools to help boost confidence. Exploring boundaries, types of thinking, positive affirmations and values.

Hearing Voices

Tuesdays, 4.30pm-6.00pm, St Andrews Church, Skipton 

Wednesdays, 12.00pm-1.30pm, Bradford District and Craven Mind

Group for people who hear voices

Learn new strategies and talk to others to help you cope with hearing voices at these weekly groups.

Peer support group

User-led recovery-based learning and support around various mental health topics. In partnership with Healthy Lifestyle Solutions and located in Holme Wood at Holme Centre, Madison Avenue, BD4 0JE

Six Weeks of Wellness

Mondays, 4.00pm-5.30pm, Bradford District and Craven Mind

Group for wellbeing tips

Covers a wide range of topics that will help you manage your wellbeing more effectively. Each week focuses on a different topic: five ways to wellbeing; mindfulness and meditation; stress and anxiety; sleep; forgiveness; gratitude.

Understanding Trauma

Fridays, 2pm-3.30pm, Bradford District and Craven Mind

A 6 week recovery course (not necessary to attend all 6 sessions)

A trauma recovery group that helps people to understand the impacts of trauma upon our physical and mental health, and develops coping strategies to help overcome these.
